Coventry has launched a new performance and arts event this year with the title Covent Garden, featuring the work of a local playwright, poet, musician, and poet laureate.
The Coventry Performance Arts Festival will feature a series of six free performances and a variety of events throughout the year, beginning with the Coventry Shakespeare Festival in September.
The festival will also be joined by two performances of Coventry Opera and two performances at the Covent Gardens Theatre.
The Festival is being launched by Coventry City Council in partnership with Coventry Theatre and the Covence Festival.
It will also include performances from Coventry Contemporary Theatre, Coventry Festival Theatre, and Coventry Cultural Centre.
In 2017, Covent Hall staged a free performance by Shakespeare in the Park in conjunction with the Arts Council of Covent City.
The event brought together more than 3,000 people and was broadcast live on the Covents Arts Council website.
A new Covent Festival and Festival Performance has been launched in the year 2020.
The Covent Pavilion Festival will be presented in the Covance Pavilion, at the foot of Covance Street, on Sunday, October 18.
The performance will feature the work by local and international artists including:Hannah Harkness, Pauline Deneuve, Paula Williams, and Joanna Weymouth, who is also a member of Covence Arts Council.
