The Toronto Public Library will open its doors for free performances and workshops this fall, with performances from the world’s leading performing arts organisations.
The JCCS Toronto Public Festival is a joint venture between the library, the Toronto Public Museum and the Toronto Museum of Contemporary Art.
The performances are being organised by the Museum of Fine Arts, and include performances by the National Ballet of Canada, the National Opera and the Royal Ballet Canada.
The Library will also host an open house and a performance of the opera Die Walküre on Friday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
The new performance series, dubbed “The First Play: JCCF,” features performances from a variety of renowned Canadian arts organisations including the Royal Opera House, the Royal Canadian Ballet, the Canadian National Ballets Theatre, and the National Youth Theatre.
The series also includes a free performance from the National Centre for Theatre, Film and Theatre, the Centre for Contemporary Dance, the School of Theatre and Dance, and many more.
Tickets for the concerts are $7.50 for adults, $3.50 students, and free for seniors.
