Stockton’s “Luv” performing arts Festival will return for its second year on February 10.
The annual festival, which is free to attend, will feature a number of new and popular performances from local and international artists.
The festival will take place on the shores of the Los Angeles River, where a number popular events such as the Stockton Zoo, the Stockfield Museum of Art and the Stockport Town Hall will be held.
The annual Stockton Festival, which will be taking place from Friday February 8, has been in the works for many years.
The Stockton Community Association and the Downtown Stockton Arts Coalition welcomed the announcement, which was made in partnership with the Stockmont Board of Commissioners.
“The Stockyard Festival is an important part of our revitalisation effort,” said Craig Stroud, president of the Stockyard Community Association.
“We have a community that is so passionate about what Stockton is about, and we look forward to continuing to be a vital part of the revitalisation efforts in Stockton.”
“We are excited about the opportunities we have with this second year,” said Jeff Lees, director of the Downtown Stroud Art Coalition.
“It’s going to be an awesome opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate their Stockton roots and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in one of the most vibrant, vibrant arts and cultural venues in the city,” said Lees.
The two-day event will take a return to its roots, with artists taking to the Stockyards’ iconic “Stockton Rock” sculpture.
The iconic rock was once the backdrop for the Stocktons famous “Stockyard Dance”, which featured the Stockford and Stockton dances.
“This will be a great opportunity for Stockton to showcase the incredible talents that the community has and to connect with other communities around the world through music, art and community,” said Stockton Mayor Mike Piazza.
“Luv,” which takes place on Saturday February 10, will include a number new acts and artists from around the region, including artists like Stirling, Zane Smith, Tammi Smith, Nick Lopak, John Travolta and Michael Jackson.
