Dubai has opened the world’s first ‘dubs’ performing arts venue in the middle of the desert.
Dubai’s new Dubs in the Desert nightclub will have a capacity of 10,000 people and open to the public on Friday.
Dubs is the result of a partnership between Dubai International Development Authority and local entertainment developers, with a number of other partners including the Dubai government and the United Arab Emirates.
Dubbed ‘Dubbs Dubai’, the venue will feature a variety of dance and entertainment performances including live music, dance classes, film, film screenings and a full bar.
Dubbs is located on the shores of the Red Sea, which is an area of the UAE which is known for its thriving art and culture.
The venue is part of a larger effort by Dubai to develop the area into a destination for its residents and visitors to explore, experience and work in the country.
Dubbers first dance venue, in Dubai, will open to public on April 1.
The Dubai Tourism Board has said that this new venue will be a “truly unique venue for the UAE and the global dance community”.
It is expected that the venue could become the country’s first dance and music venue and will be open to both male and female visitors, and also have a large variety of performances, including live concerts.
