NEW ZEALAND’S Buffalo Symphony Orchestra and the Buffalo Ballet will perform a new version in its summer celebration of the world’s first ever female soloist.
The world-first performance will be at the Buffalo Niagara Summer Festival on Friday.
The new version will include a new vocal track, which will feature a new orchestra piece by Buffalo-based musician and soloist Lauren McLeod.
The performance is a celebration of Buffalo’s early female composers.
It will be performed in front of a live audience of thousands and will take place from 12:00pm until 2:00am.
“I was really inspired by the work that Lauren McLean and her partner, Sarah White, were doing with the New York City Ballet,” conductor Bill Miller said.
“Their performance is the pinnacle of the Buffalo Symphony, and I was really looking forward to seeing them do it in front a live crowd.”
The new performance is scheduled for Friday, May 27, at the Summer Festival at the Niagara Convention Centre.
